Maintenance Helper The Maintenance Helper will perform general housekeeping duties for an assigned location(s).
This position is responsible for providing building and grounds maintenance, upkeep and repair and will take a lead role in completing timely safety inspections and follow-up.
Assist mechanics and shop personnel in the equipment repair, and pick-up and delivery of parts and equipment as needed.
Direct responsibilities include:
Pick-up and deliver parts and equipment.
Cooperatively assists mechanics as needed.
Perform housekeeping duties in shop, parts area and offices to include sweeping, mopping, trash removal and clean restrooms.
Responsible for grounds keeping duties for the facility; mowing, weeding, snow and ice removal and lot maintenance.
Change filters, replace light bulbs and perform entry level maintenance as needed.
Promote good housekeeping and maintain a safe work environment Observe and adhere to safety and security procedures; Participate in safety, quality, productivity, or housekeeping improvement programs.
Perform safety inspections, fire extinguishers, ladders, electrical cords, emergency lights, eye wash, harnesses, first aid supplies, etc and document completion and ensure follow-up items are completed.
Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

High School Diploma or equivalent Prior experience working in a shop or manufacturing environment helpful Valid driver's license and good driving record required Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the janitorial service Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules Knowledge of the proper use of chemicals, fertilizers, and pesticides Ability to follow instructions Facilities and/or maintenance experience helpful Experience operating and using janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies such as floor buffers, vacuum cleaners, and cleaning compounds and solutions.
Regular and consistent attendance are an essential function.
Physical Requirements:
Moderate physical activity and the ability to lift and move up to 85 lbs.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places.
